Industrial Wireless - Machine and Equipment Access

The purpose of this guide is to help technicians and engineers plan, build, and implement an industrial grade wireless system for an Industrial Automation and Control System (IACS) architecture. In this particular solution guide, we will be utilizing a HMS-AWB514 wireless router to function as an Access Point, Bridge, or Client and a HMS Wireless Bolt[s], model AWB2030 mounted at the machine or equipment and configured as a client, thus providing direct wireless access to the end devices.

Instructions and examples are based on on the models listed above, its Graphic User Interface (GUI). We'll also use Advanced IP Scanner to scan the the network for connected devices once the AP/Clients have been configured. This guide will navigate, configure, and explore the functionality of these hardware and software

The Anybus Wireless product line was developed as a cost effective solution to allow an industrial grade wireless access to machine and equipment for end users, machine builders and OEMs. these end devices could be, but not limited to Programmable Logics Controller (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Building Automation System (BAS), skid, or an add-on to an entire IACS network. This provides the ability to quickly and remotely access isolated end devices to troubleshoot a component or system failure, perform software patches or updates, data aggregation, and mitigating unscheduled downtime, thus increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The implementation of system is easy and thus simplifying integration and reducing commissioning time.
